The Rose of Innisfree Tourboat operates on the picturesque Lough Gill, in counties Sligo & Leitrim, Ireland where you can experience some of the most spectacular scenery!

Social barriers and subsequent elevated stress levels associated with outings are some reasons why many disabled people find it hard to do things at short notice choosing instead opt out of social events and thus adding. Boat trips are great ways to spend time with family and friends alike9.

If you are organising a social event and there is a friend in the group with mobility issues, precautions taken can minimise frustration and heartache. Research your surroundings where possible and plan ahead!
Perhaps opt for boats with wheelchair accessible bathrooms and accessible ramps at the port. Simple ideas that I would advise to minimise problems include ringing ahead to make sure ramps are working or to choose least busy times to ensure plenty of space for free movement of a wheelchair user!

Boating incorportes the 3 F’s for me….FAMILY,Fun & Fishing. The freedom and relaxation it offers is amazing and it is also something to do as a family. Lough Gill, located just 3 kilometres east of Sligo town, is predominantly known as a salmon fishery. Gill holds a stock of brown trout and gets a good run of sea trout during the season. There are public access points at Inisfree, Sriff Bay, Aughamore and Hazelwood Bay.
