This wheelchair transfer board from Beasy has a swivel seat that can rotate 360 degrees and runs along a track in the board so it can move position allowing for the easiest of transfers.
I purchased from John Preston webpage and I feel it is an excellent purchase for a number of reasons.
It is alongterm skin investment for those who need to regularly transfer by board in my opinion.
It is designed to minimise shear pressure so reduces the chance of injury and friction which is always a plus with a spinal cord injury! It retails at 440euro which is slightly expensive but in the long-term an extremely worthwhile purchase.
The Beasy Glider Transfer System is 32″ long (4.75 lbs) and has a curved shape for help transferring off of, on to and around a wheelchair.
This design reduces patient and caregiver strain from lifting, turning and moving along the transfer board. The gliding seat is tissue friendly as it eliminates the chance of friction induced skin injury.
