Thanks to the Easiglider exercise equipment and my active hands gripping gloves from Activehands I can still get my burn on even if 80% of my body is paralysed.
I use both to aid to keep my muscles and joints flexible. Muscle groups can become shortened and weakened after extended periods of sitting. This self manually powered piece of equipment aids also with posture, blood pressure, bowel and bladder function and so on. It is a fantastic, simple piece for a home environment or a home gym for a person with a c6/c7 spinal cord injury.
I purchased mine from Moorings Mediquip; retailing at 9,000e but demo stock may be an option. They are pricey but extremely worthwhile especially on rainy days. A gofundme page can help raise funds for the equipment.
You can also get a stationary version that costs approx. 5,000euro.
